That Rotten Fruit in The Basket...

Grapes, apples, oranges, bright, colorful, beautiful fruits gathered in one basket.

But one rotten fruit is hidden between them.

Would you start washing the fresh ones?

Or would you remove the bad one first?

The answer is obvious when it comes to fruit.

But when it comes to our thoughts, we don’t always make the same choice.

We spend so much time trying to stay positive.

Add more gratitude.

Have more goals.

Do more affirmations.

Hoping that one day all the good will somehow overpower the heaviness we feel inside.

But often, buried beneath all that effort, there’s one toxic thought, belief, or fear that we’ve been ignoring, and it’s quietly spoiling everything else.

I’m not good enough.

No one really understands me.

What’s the point?

I’ll never change.

People will leave if I show who I am.

Just like the moldy fruit in the basket, these beliefs and thoughts don’t need to be washed.

They need to be seen… and removed.

Coaching isn’t about adding glitter to wounds.

True growth begins when you pause and ask:

  • What belief am I still carrying that doesn’t serve me?

  • Is this thought true, or just old and familiar?

  • How long have I been trying to polish what actually needs to go?

  • What am I afraid might happen if I let this belief go?

  • What part of me still clings to that rotten idea?

  • Why?

The goal isn’t to have a perfect basket full of perfect thoughts.

The goal is to be aware, intentional, and gentle with yourself.

To create space.

To notice the one thing that is negatively affecting everything else.

That’s where clarity begins.

That’s where real change starts, not with more doing, but with more honest noticing.

Removing a rotten fruit from your basket isn’t a failure.

It’s wisdom.

It’s leadership.

It’s inner alignment.

And it’s one of the bravest forms of self-care...

THINK ABOUT IT...

It’s not easy to do it but I agree, it is so essential to move forward with clarity and intention after clearing our thoughts and reflecting. We need to treat ourselves gently and choose wisely how we want to show up in this world! I think a lot of us just move on autopilot instead!!! Thank you, Iman!
